On 8th August we celebrate the feast of Saint Dominic. I wish to share with you the joy of SD region. And ask your prayers for all the members of SD region. We praise God and we rejoice for all the good God has done to us, and through us.
In humility we ask God to continue to bless Saint Dominic region, and the whole congregation, with many and good brothers and associate members, so that we can serve even more the people in need through our congregation. There are so many needs … and the laborers are few.
In a few days, on 3rd of September we will be 75 brothers in SD region, and there are 16 associate members. And many members are in formation. They are all a gift from God to the congregation and the poor. Praise be to God.
We can only thank God for these good brothers and good associate members. They are a blessings. Like all of us they have weakness and sins, but they are growing in the hands of God who transforms them in their heart. Let us pray for them that they may let themselves to be transformed towards holiness, towards spirituality and professionalism, towards charity and fraternity.
May God give some of them to emerge as strong and holy leaders to guide the others. May God give some of our associate members to emerge in holiness as light and inspiration for the others. And all this … for the service of his poor people crying daily everywhere for help !!
Above all may God give us all the gift of “humility” and “gentleness of heart”, so that we can really live in community as brothers who visibly love each other, and share with our associate members this “communion of love”, and become true IKON of Gods Kingdom on earth !!
SD region is the fruit of the prayers of the general chapter of 1994. God heard the cry of the congregation with abundant blessings. Thanks be to God. Officially the region was established in 2000, and the existing community of Tabora (depending on Indonesia) was integrated with the community of Kigoma (part of SFX) in one new region.
St. Dominic was given as patron saint to care for our region. We ask him to intercede for us.
Father Triest continues to inspire many people. We ask him to intercede for us.
Brother Dominique Munyurangabo was killed in Rwamagana (Rwanda) on 14th April 1994. We ask him to intercede for us.
Brother Bernard Heylen died in Brakpan (RSA) on 14th April 2004. We ask him to intercede for us.
